Sometimes we have to write articles for the good of the athletes. Well that's what this is for. For no other reason than to highlight some of the terrific softball talent around the country. So here are 5 softball stars that coaches and fans should know about!
Emily Arledge (2024, 2B / OF, Montgomery High School, Louisiana)
Arledge is a talented player that could be found this summer playing with the Louisiana Voodoo - Allen 16u. She has a strong bat and can go to leftfield with power. Arledge is very valuable with her defense as well. She provides more than steady protection up the middle and can cover ground and make tough catches in the outfield.
Tulip Heinrich (2026, P / 1B / 2B / OF , Liberty Creek High School, Tennessee)
Heinrich is a very talented player that will be making a lot of noise over the next few years. She's a terrific pitching talent in particular. Heinrich gets the ball to move up, making a lot of batters chase at high balls that end up out of the strike zone. She can mix it up by throwing at the corners of the plate as well. Heinrich was a standout performer this summer with the TN Thunderbolts 2026 - Fetcho.
Miki Watts (2025, SS / C, Loranger High School, Louisiana)
Watts is one of the better defensive softball players around. She's an absolute force on the left side of the infield. Watts has a super quick reaction time that allows her to jump the ball off the plate and make some amazing plays in the field. She's great behind the plate as well. Watts is willing and able to throw herself in front of the ball and gets the ball out of the glove quickly to pick off runners.
Emily Moore (2026, SS / 2B, Bonita High School, California)
Moore is an elite softball talent nationwide in the class of 2026. She's one of the best power hitters in the country. Moore doesn't just bash the ball, but she sends it deep and picks up a ton of multi base hits. Her power is special, not just because it's there, but because she does it with such consistency. The best part may be that she can send it out of the park on both sides of the field any at bat.
Sophia Senger (2025, LHP / 1B, Donovan Catholic, New Jersey)
Senger is a talented prospect that will draw a lot of eyes on her game for the next few years. She's a very exciting player when she steps on the mound. Senger stays around the plate with her pitches and seems to get a lot of movement on the ball. This causes a lot of swings and misses from batters at the plate. She also has a nice swing and sees the ball well out of the pitchers hand.
