Cook Out 400: Favorites And A Sleeper

The NASCAR Cup Series will be at the Richmond Raceway in Virginia at Sunday. The race will begin at 6PM. As one of the premier short tracks, the race should be action packed. After a 2 week layoff for the Olympics, the drivers and teams are probably itching to start their engines. Chris Buescher was last years Cook Out 400 winner. Who will it be this year? Well, we'll give you our 3 favorites and a sleeper.

KAMP'S KORNER FAVORITES

Chris Buescher

He's already proved that he can race here. Buescher can play track position, and like last year, find a lead in the last stage and hold off the competition. Buescher used a fast restart late to seal the championship last year. We'll put the defending champ as a favorite.

Tyler Reddick

Reddick is currently 3rd in the points standings and has established himself as a very real threat for the championship. He may have finished 16th last year at the Cook Out 400, but he also was running in the lead for 81 laps. Reddick could be a really nice value pick.

Denny Hamlin

Success breed success and Hamlin won the spring race at the Richmond Raceway. That was his second victory at the track. He actually has a track record of success in Richmond, and in my opinion is a pretty safe bet to be in the mix.

KAMP'S KORNER SLEEPER

Bubba Wallace

This one might seem like a bit of a reach, but hey, we're trying to find a sleeper here. First of all, he has a lot on the line as the first driver below the playoff cut line. Wallace has a very mediocre 12th place best finish in Richmond, but he may be running the track at the right time. Wallace has finished 3 of his last 4 races in the top 10.
