There's a lot of high quality softball being played this spring. With that high quality play comes some bats that are heating up and players that are causing damage from the plate. Let's look at some of the players from across the country that have been potent at the plate.
Mackenzie Jones (2025, IF, Canyon View High School, Arizona)
Jones' bat has been hot in the month of May. She's shown the ability to go both ways with the ball and it's come off her bat with some heat as well. Jones has proven to be a dangerous line drive hitter with extra base power and speed.
Siannah Nava, 2025, Utility, Brazoswood High School, Texas)
Nava is an elite softball prospect that carries a big bat. She has bit time power behind her swing and makes it very difficult for pitchers to pitch around her. Throwing the ball is on the plate or inside is a very dangerous proposition. Nava can drive it over the left field fence at any time.
Shaniya Lane (2025, OF, Piedmont Academy, Georgia)
Lane is committed to Delaware State, and the Hornets have to be thrilled about that. Her bat is always good, but has been electric in early to mid May. Lane recently hit a grand slam over the right field fence. Just a couple days later she chopped a ball into right field and used her speed on the bases to turn it into a triple.
Brooke Edevold (2028, 3B, Hargrave High School, Texas)
Edevold will be a name to keep an eye on over the next few years in Texas softball. She's developed a very lethal bat. She's shown that you can't throw a ball a little high and inside or one that hangs over the plate at all. If you do, she can connect with her extra base power to left field.
