Michigan High School Football: 5 Games Of Note In Week 1

Michigan high school football kicks off week 1 on August 29. We're giving you a list of 5 opening games that you'll want to watch or keep an eye on. All 5 should be entertaining matchups that send early messages or have early ramifications.

Muskegon vs. Zeeland West

Muskegon is one of the best teams in the state, but Zeeland West is no slouch. They gave Muskegon a game last year in a 22-16 loss.

Rockford vs. Cass Tech

Rockford has state title aspirations, but Cass Tech is a solid opening test and generally considered one of the top 15 teams in the state.

Northville vs. Lake Orion

Lake Orion is highly regarded this season and capable of going the distance. But Northville is coming off a 10-2 season with BOTH losses coming to powerhouse Belleville.

Belleville vs. Clarkston

Belleville is pretty much everyone's top ranked team. And they didn't shy away from competition in the opening game. There are whispers around Michigan that Clarkston is going to be improved and physical this season.

Saline vs. Brighton

It looks like Saline is starting a new Carr era with Tommy Carr taking over for CJ Carr. Brighton is a program on the rise and this game could tell a big story early. I'm sure it's a game starred on their schedule.
