Danny DeKeyser has had a tremendous hockey career. The star defenseman played his college hockey at Western Michigan University. He was named the CCHA All-Rookie Team and the CCHA All-Tournament Team for the 2010-2011 season. The next year he was a second team All-American, second team All-CCHA, the CCHA Best Defenseman and the CCHA All-Tournament Team. He ended up as a first team All-CCHA selection and won the CCHA Best Defenseman 2 years in a row. DeKeyser played with his hometown Detroit Red Wings from 2013-2022. Twice he represented the United State in the IHF World Championship.
DeKeyser is now helping to develop youth hockey in the state of Michigan with the DeKeyser Training Institute. They offer an array of services to help develop hockey players and set them on a successful career path in the sport. DeKeyser Training Institute does everything from training to consultation.
DeKeyser has created quite a buzz in the youth hockey community with an upcoming camp being held at University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. The camp runs from June 26-30 from 8:15AM-3:30PM and is held in the McCann Ice Arena. The DeKeyser Training Institute Hockey Camp will cover essential skills like stick-handling and shooting. There will be off-ice workouts and scrimmages in addition.
This is a great opportunity for youth hockey players in the midwest. It's an opportunity for players to learn from a professional that has had a long and successful hockey career. It's refreshing to see a star come back and provide opportunities to the youth in his home home state. The DeKeyser Training Institute Hockey Camp should be an exciting sellout event with tons of highlights from very talented players.
