The NFL Draft is complete and every team thinks they nailed it. Now it's time to take a look at and objectively analyze how each team did in the draft. We're going to give you our top "Winners" in the NFL Draft. These are the teams that we think collected the best talent last weekend.
1) Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles started off by grabbing 2 of the top CB's on everyone's board in Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Jalyx Hunt, a DE picked in the 3rd round could crack the rotation. The 5th and 6th round may be where the Eagles really made their mark. Trevor Keegan was a strong piece of one of the best offensive lines in college football at Michigan and linebacker Jeremiah Trotter seems like a very high value pick in that round as well. I'm very high on them getting WR's Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson in the 5th and 6th rounds. Wilson particularly in the 6th says steal to me.
2) Washington Commanders
The Commanders, in my opinion, had themselves a very nice draft weekend. A lot of their success will boil down to Jayden Daniels and how he pans out. But behind him they added DT Jer'Zahn Newton with pick 36 and Mike Sainristil with the 50th selection. Some felt Newton was the top DT on the board and Sainristil might have been the top nickel corner. Ben Sinnott is a solid TEm but may have snagged a bit early. Brandon Coleman is a guard that was high on many boards, including mine and the Commanders added him in the 4th round. Luke McCaffrey in an intriguing pick at WR with the 100th selection.
3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It's hard to rival the top 4 picks from the Bucs. I think they added 4 players that will be playing key snaps right away. Graham Barton in the first round looks like pretty close to a sure thing. Some people don't like Braswell in the 2nd, but I don't mind it. Is he going to be a superstar? Highly doubt it. But I do think they got a DE that will contribute. Tykee Smith seems like a high value 3rd round pick at safety and Jalen McMillan should be catching passes for the Bucs from week 1.
4) Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins started the day attacking both sides of the line. In the first round they added Chop Robinson and in the second grabbed Patrick Paul. Robinson could be an instant impact rusher off the edge and while Paul is a bit of a project, the returns could be very fruitful. While I'm not real big on RB Jaylen Wright in the 4th, I love Mohamed Kamara, a defensive lineman from Colorado, and Malik Washington, a wide receiver in the 6th. I love the addition of WR Tahj Washington in the final round. Don't be shocked if the Dolphins added 2 receivers that play meaningful snaps late in the draft.
5) Detroit Lions
No matter what you think about double-dipping for CB's in the first 2 rounds, one thing is for certain - The Lions attacked their biggest weakness and now could roll out a pretty strong core of corners that runs 5 deep. OT Giovanni Manu seems like a reach in the 4th round, but Sione Vaki could be a steal. He should be a grade A special teams player right out of the gates and has the potential to be a contributor both at safety and at running back. Seems like a nice weapon to have stored away. Wingo is a solid value at DT in the 6th round and many had OG Christian Mahogany going much higher.
