5 Sure Fire Minor League Baseball Prospects

Baseball might be the toughest sport to predict prospect success. There's just so much that goes into it and so many different factors to consider. Predicting the ultimate success of minor league baseball players tends to be a lot more strikeouts per say, than homeruns. That being said, there's no harm in trying right? So here's my 10 sure fire minor league baseball prospects:

James Wood (OF, AA Harrisburg Senators, Washington Nationals)

Let's start with his physical frame. He's big and strong. His size actually aids him in his speed on the base path as it doesn't take a ton of work to get from A to B. At the plate, the ball comes off Woods' bat high and very hard.

Sal Frelick (OF, AAA Nashville Sounds, Milwaukee Brewers)

Frelick is a really solid athlete. While he's not the best overall in the field as of yet, I believe that his difficulties are fixable. Frelick boasts good speed on the base path and gets a lot of contact at the plate.

Cole Young (SS, A Moesto Nuts)

He seems like a big shortstop, but it works for him. Young has good arm strength and it translates well to the major league level. He's solid at the plate where the ball comes off the bat with some pop.

Ethan Salas (C, A Lake Elsinore Storm, San Diego Padres)

Salas is extremely mobile behind the plate. From his quickness from crouch to his reactionary hands, the tools all seem to be there. Salas is still pretty young, but his future could be incredibly bright.

Jett Williams (SS, A St. Lucie Mets, New York Mets)

Williams is small in stature, but carries a pretty big stick. He has the physical gifts to outstanding in the field, just needs some seasoning. Williams is patient at the plate and makes the pitcher go over the plate.
