Football tradition and talent run deep in the state of Michigan. The class of 2026 features some nice talent with varying skill sets and upside. We're going to give you a look at 5 promising players from the mitten state that will be entering their sophomore season.
Garlands Randolph (2026, RB, Dow High School, Michigan)
Randolph holds a lot of upside as a halfback. Let's start with his speed. He picks up steam fast and can hit holes in a hurry. Randolph can also turn the corner on linebackers and ends on the outside. While he's not a stacked up running back, he runs hard and can shred off tacklers. Randolph has excellent balance so if a defender hits and doesn't take him down, he'll bounce off the attempt.
Tristan Comer (2026, TE, Freeland High School, Michigan)
Comer is that rare combination of physical specimen and pure athlete. There's not much physically that he doesn't do well. From speed, to reach, to verticality, all the tools seem to be there. While he's a high major D1 prospect in football, he's also a high end basketball prospect. Comer could end up translating to the next level at a variety of positions.
Austin Abbate (2026, WR, Saline High School, Michigan)
Saline has a nice stable of skill position players, so I'm not sure how much playing time or varsity snaps are available, but this young man has talent. Go ahead and screenshot this one because I'm pretty sure I'm right. Abbate has some straight line speed and is shifty when a defender tries to break down and tackle him in the open field.
Jacob Schorfaar (2026, TE, DeWitt High School, Michigan)
Schorfaar brings a lot to the table as a TE prospect. I really like him as a blocker. He can turn his hips on defensive ends and he does a nice job maintaining contact. Schorfaar gets leverage and drives his opponent. He also has the the footwork need to effectively block down the field. Schorfaar can catch passes across the middle.
Eli Bickel (2026, OT, North Branch High School, Michigan)
Bickel is Division 1 target and it's easy to see why. He currently holds a Central Michigan University offer. Bickel is strong, especially at the point of contact. He attacks the defense out of the stance coming out low and punishing his assignment. Bickel could really end up being a steal at the next level
