5 Best And 5 Worst From the 1st Round
The first round of the highly anticipated NFL Draft is complete! Almost every team and their fans went to bed excited about the future. That being said there are always the best and the worst from the 1st round of picks. We're going to give you the Kamp's Korner 5 best picks and 5 worst picks.
THE 5 BEST
5: Dallas Turner (#17, Minnesota Vikings)
Turner might have been my #1 defensive player on the board and the Vikings swiped him up in the middle of the first round. This seems like a really smart pick that fills a need.
4: Nate Wiggins (#30, Baltimore Ravens)
This is really late to get such a high quality corner in the NFL Draft. Wiggins has the length and speed of an elite cover corner.
3: Terrion Arnold (#24, Detroit Lions)
The Lions may have picked up CB1 late in the first round. The front office had to be drooling as offensive player after offensive player went early. Arnold will have an instant impact in a defensive backfield that needs it.
2: Marvin Harrison Jr. (#4, Arizona Cardinals)
Harrison Jr. might just be the best player in the draft. To get the guy who is widely considered the most can't miss player in the draft at 4 is a steal.
1: Caleb Williams (#1, Chicago Bears)
He seemed to be a sure fire #1 pick. If Williams is an instant starter, he could push the Bears into the playoffs next year.
THE 5 WORST
5: Laiatu Latu (#15, Indianapolis Colts)
I might take some flack for this one. But me personally, I'm not taking an injury risk as the first defensive player chosen in the draft. Especially not when there was a high quality player of the same like still on the board.
4: Ricky Pearsall (#31, San Francisco 49ers)
This isn't a knock on Pearsall. I actually really like him as a player. But I think at #31 he was a reach. Pearsall could have been had on Day 2.
3: Jordan Morgan (#25, Green Bay Packers)
They wanted a tackle, but picked what might be a future IOL. There was better available including Graham Barton who was picked right behind Morgan.
2: Bo Nix (#12, Denver Broncos)
Nix seems like a huge reach at 12. I get it, he was the last of the top 5 QB's available, but what is the limit here? He was generally considered a 2nd round pick just a week ago. I get the need at the position, but this seems almost irresponsible.
1: Michael Penix Jr. (#8, Atlanta Falcons)
Huh? Kirk Cousins just signed a 4 year $180 million contract with the Falcons. Oh yeah, a contract that also features a no trade clause. What exactly are they planning on doing with a QB just shy of 24 years old?
