3 Impact Softball Players

Let's be real for a second, softball players are some of the toughest athletes in high school athletics. To be an impact softball player, you really have to be at that next level. Well, I'm going to take an inside look at 3 softball players that are highly talented and highly impactful.

Aubrey Hensley (2025, Catcher / Outfielder, Bedford, Ohio Outlaws - Shepherd)

Hensley attends high school just north of the Michigan - Ohio border at Bedford. She currently plays south of the state's borders with the Ohio Outlaws - Shepherd. This high school season she proved to be one of the most impactful catchers in the state. Hensley showed an elite arm throwing out 16 runners attempting to steal a base. Adding to her defensive accomplishments was the fact that she carried an eye popping 1.000 fielding percentage. Hensley was a force at the plate as well. She had a .492 batting average to go with 66 RBI's. Hensley finished with 23 homeruns to set a new school record. She now has 32 homers in her high school career, which is also a new school mark. And to think, she has 2 more years to pad that homerun record. Hensley carries a reputation as the type of player that puts in the time and the effort to get better when there isn't a crowd in the stands. She has so much to offer as a player and a prospect.

Julia Rancilio (2024, Catcher / Leftfield / Shortstop, Richmond, Tennesse Mojo 08 Nemitz|)

Ever heard the saying "Winner's win"? That would probably accurately describe Rancilio and her softball career thus far. Long before she was a high level high school star, she was still hitting pinnacles of success. Rancilio actually caught a perfect game and was behind the plate when her 10 and under team won a Little League state title. Well, her success and stardom certainly didn't end there. She's gone on and had a tremendous high school career and established herself as elite all around player at Richmond High School. Rancilio is a terrific 2 way player with super quick hands and reaction time when catching. She gets around on the ball quickly at the plate and has established herself as a highly impactful softball player at her school and in the state of Michigan.

Lewie Wilks (2024, Infielder, Portage Central, T2 Smigiel 18u)

Remember at the beginning when I said that softball players are some of the best athletes? Wilks is a perfect example of that. She's one of those young stars where it just feels like she'd be good at whatever athletic activity she put her mind to. Wilks was also a varsity starter on the Portage Central basketball team in the winter. Wilks is one of the best and most versatile fielders that you can find. She reads the ball off the bat well and her quick reaction time is elite. Wilks has a nice arm from the shortstop position. The ball comes out of her glove quickly and has a nice velocity on it. Wilks is also speedy on the base paths. She runs hard and is always ready to test an outfielders arm. Wilks is a very good student which makes her very recruitable from the academic end as well.
