It's starting to feel like wash, rinse and rehearse. Irresponsible racing by questionable drivers cost Hankamp yet again. This AREA iRacing Truck Series race in Texas looked really good for a long time for Hankamp. There was some really impressive racing going on by 20 plus trucks on the track. The long run in the middle of the race really gave us a feel for what was possible from these talented drivers. Hankamp, yet again, was laying down top 10-15 speed and was patiently moving up the leaderboard. He hit a high of 11th with well timed pit stops and solid race strategy. But the ghost of races past reared it's ugly head. Hankamp was swiped from behind by a slower car, sending him into a spin, the wall and a 37th place finish.
All is not lost for the 67. Hankamp for 3 straight weeks has put up speeds and lap times that should have him pushing the top. And that's saying something given the quality of racing we're seeing from the top 20-25 drivers. If he continues to put up these times, it's just a matter of time.
