While I was in Dearborn Heights coaching this weekend, there was a lot of word from contacts and connects out of LBI's April Showers. There were a ton of players that were extremely impressive at the event. We're going to take a closer look at some of the players from Michigan that were being talked about at and after the event.
Sheridan Beal (2026, G, Michigan Storm 17u GUAA, West Bloomfield)
Beal ended last high school season on a tear and apparently that continued over the weekend. The athletic wing was able to attack lanes and space and create offense. Beal is on pace to be an absolute force this spring and summer.
Julia Tkaczyk (2026, G, Anchor Bay, Michigan Mystics National)
I've always really liked Tkaczyk's game and from what I hear, she did more of the same at April Showers. Tkaczyk has always been a consistent and efficient scorer that her team can count on for points. Coaches should keep an eye on her game.
Maria Walker (2028, G, Detroit Renaissance, Michigan Storm 15u GUAA)
Apparently Walker made a really strong statement at the event. The young star found, as well as created, lanes to the rim and attacked them off the bounce. If Walker keeps it up, she'll be 1 of the most talked about 2028's in the state.
Aubree Allen (2026, F/C, Parma Western, Michigan Premier S40 Saldana)
It sounds like Allen was 1 of the best post players in all the brackets. This surprises no one. Allen can simply dominate the block on both ends of the floor and is underrated in her ability to see the floor and pass from the perimeter and high post.
Samantha Fuhs (2027, F, Divine Child, Always 100 Elite 2027 3SSB)
Fuhs and her Always 100 squad took home the 16u Stars bracket championship. She was able to connect with her jumper and was seeing the floor well swinging the ball to shooters. I've always really liked her ability to defend from behind and block shots cleanly and she did just that this weekend.
