Preview And Players To Watch - District 25

District 25, in my opinion, has some great games in store for us. There are high quality players, teams and talent ready to take the court in this bracket.

1ST ROUND:

Walled Lake Northern vs. Walled Lake Central

Walled Lake Northern defeated Walled Lake Central twice this season, holding them to a combined 45 points in the 2 contests. Defense wins championships, so Walled Lake Central will need to find a way to get some points on the board.

Prediction - Walled Lake Northern

SEMIFINALS:

Orchard Lake St. Mary's vs. Walled Lake Northern

This could be a very interesting game. Orchard Lake St. Mary's brings a 17-3 record to the table and they have some very legit talent. But I think Walled Lake Northern is very underrated as a team. They have the passers, scorer and defenders needed to pull off the "upset". I really like this matchup.

Prediction - Orchard Lake St. Mary's

West Bloomfield vs. White Lake Lakeland

This is an intriguing matchup to say the least. How exactly do you distinguish? No comparative scores or any data like that. Similar records. Both have won 4 of their last 5 games.

Prediction - West Bloomfield

CHAMPIONSHIP:

Orchard Lake St. Mary's vs. West Bloomfield

This could end up as a classic encounter. There would be plenty of high level talent and terrific team play. Would it come down to a star having a big day or whatever talented squad plays the best team basketball? Can't wait to see if we find out!

Prediction - Orchard Lake St. Mary's

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Lillian Miracle (2025, F/C, Walled Lake Central)

Miracle can be a difference maker in the first round. She's a solid rim protector that will challenge and block shots by the handful. If Miracle can force tough looks at the rim and force lower percentage looks, her Walled Lake Central team has a shot.

Amal Younes (2025, G, Walled Lake Northern)

Younes is a player that I've been on alert for. She's had a tremendous 8 months or so of basketball. Younes can get the job done as an explosive scorer that uses pace. That being said, I saw first hand earlier this season just how effective she can be as a passer as well.

Reese Holton (2027, F, Orchard Lake St. Mary's)

Holton is part of a diverse and deep Orchard Lake St. Mary's roster. She's been playing terrific basketball, especially as of late. Holton has scored 20 plus points in the last 2 games and had a points and rebounds double-double in her last outing.

Sheridan Beal (2026, G, West Bloomfield)

Beal is an elite talent in the class of 2026. She knows what it's like to win a state championship and she knows what it takes. Beal is an aggressive guard that can cut, slash and attack her way to the rim. She can excel in the open floor when she gets her momentum north and south.

Aubrin Miller (2026, G, White Lake Lakeland)

Miller has established herself as a high level junior prospect. She's shown a solid feel for the game and an ability to put up points in bunches. Just last week, Miller scored 35 of her team's 48 points in a win against Marian. If she can bring that firepower to the districts, watch out for Lakeland.
