Kamp's Korner recently set up a polling system on X to vote for the favorite for this season's Miss Basketball in Michigan. We had 4 initial polls of candidates. Then we took the 4 winners of the those polls and put them up for a final vote.
No matter the results, being in this poll is meant to be the greatest of compliments. To be included in such a tremendous group of athletes is a win in itself.
These polls proved a few things to be true. There is a vast amount of high level talent around the state of Michigan. These 16 players weren't the only ones nominated. There were many more in addition. The close results of these polls shows us that this season's Miss Basketball will be tough to determine as there are so many worthy winners.
The first pool of players was won by Jordyn Bonnema (Kalamazoo Christian) with 37.6% of the vote. Anna Wypych (Rockford) and Colleena Bryant (Wayne Memorial) followed closely with 29.3% and 22.6%. Olivia Flynn (Harbor Springs) finished with 10.5% of the vote.
The second pool saw Isis Musah-Johnson(Detroit Edison) finish first with 51.5% of the vote. Madi Uyl (DeWitt) finished with 24.2%, Elisha Dykstra (West Catholic) grabbed 19.7% and Christen Banks (Southfield A&T) took 4.5% of the vote.
In the third pool, we saw our closest finish. Alli Zajac (Tecumseh) was at the top wth 40.8% of the vote, while Avery Lay (Chelsea) followed with 38.2%. Maddy Benard (Grosse Pointe South) had 14.5% and Rylan Buschell finished with 6.6%.
The fourth poll saw Charlotte Miller (Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard) win by taking 44.9% of the votes. Alice Max (Rochester) picked up 30.6%. Anayya Davis (Henry Ford II) grabbed 17% while Dania McClain (South Lake) took home 7.5% of the votes.
Per the results above, the final poll included Bonnema, Musah-Johnson, Zac and Miller.
4TH PLACE
Isis Musah-Johnson (G, Detroit Edison) - 12.7% of the vote
The California commit is a winner through and through. She has a state title to prove it and the all around game to match.
3RD PLACE
Alli Zajac (Wing/F, Tecumseh) - 16.5% of the voye
Zajac has her team playing amongst the best in the state in any Division. She a selfless leader and versatile forward.
2ND PLACE
Charlotte Miller (PG, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard) - 34.8% of the vote
Miller was a very close second. There is no more pure of a shooter in the state than Miller. There's no more trusted player with the ball in their hands than the Ferris State commit.
WINNER
Jordyn Bonnema (G, Kalamazoo Christian) - 36.1% of the vote
Bonnema was your early choice for Miss Basketball in 2025. Bonnema is a great choice. She is a scorer through and through and recently became her schools all time leader in that category. Bonnema can attack lanes off the bounce as well as be a flamethrower from behind the arc.
