PT4L GFL STANDOUTS - PART 1

The PT4L GFL is a longstanding fall league that always features quality teams and players. There was some excellent basketball, in terms of team and talent, on display at HYPE Wayne on Sunday. We're going to give you 6 players that stood out at the event.

Ashli Wright (2025, SF, Westfield Prep)

Wright really looked like she could be on the verge of a huge senior season. She showed the ability to be active on the glass on both ends, being both slippery around and powerful through, an opponents box out. Wright also showed that she can work very effectively off the high post and attack on a 3 dribble drive from there. What stood out the most to me though was her ability to see the floor and pass the ball. Wright could hit a cutter on target as well as pass on the move. She even hit a strike on a down the court pass that led to a bucket.

Brooklyn Robinson (2028, C, Westfield Prep)

College coaches, this is definitely a name to remember. Robinson has the potential and upside to be at least an upper echelon post player in the class of 2028. She's even good enough now that she looks like an instant impact freshman. Robinson is strong and she uses it, but she also naturally rebounds high and keeps it protected from guards. When she got early position under the rim, she was able to limit possessions to 1 and done. Robinson showed that she could play with her back to the basket and finish over her left shoulder. She also showed that she was willing and able to extend the floor with her jumper.

Lea Ward (2026, CG, Ambassador Prep)

I was really impressed with what Ward was able to do with the ball off the perimeter. She had smooth handles that helped her attack the rim going to her left. Ward drove the ball with a low front shoulder, keeping her defenders at bay. From there, she showed the ability to both finish at the rim or dish out to an open teammate. Ward hit shooters on target off the dribble drive and also kicked to a teammate with an open lane and then cleared out on the other side.

Keira Roehm (2026, CG, Saline)

Public Service Announcement: Don't leave Keira Roehm open from the left corner. Or anywhere for that matter. She's flat out one of the most dangerous shooters in Michigan. Roehm was especially dangerous off the catch on Sunday, keeping everything smooth and in rhythm. From what I saw at the PT4L GFL, I really like the way her game is developing. Roehm looks very comfortable advancing the ball and initiating the offense, but is willing and capable of playing off the ball and attacking as a scorer. Roehm was even active on the defensive glass, attacking from the baseline and snagging boards.

Kadyn Maida (2025, CG, Saline)

Maida was easily one of the most impressive players in the gym. Every single aspect of her game has improved (by a large amount) since high school season. She was smart, effective and dynamic with the ball. Maida recognized good looks at the rim and connected when they were there. She was able to use a fake and take and a hesitation move to attack the rim and score. Maida also connected multiple times on catch and shoot 3's. I really liked the way she handled the ball and made good decisions with it. Maida looked like she's more than ready to assume a leadership role this season.

Sasha McClellan (2027, CG, Avondale)

McClellan was exciting to watch on Sunday at the PT4L GFL and it's easy to see why coaches are more than intrigued by this prospect. She has super fast feet that sometimes seem like they don't touch the ground. McClellan flaunted a fast first step and quickness off the bounce that helped her put defenders on her hip. She was quick defensively as well, where she got a steal and it turned it into a bucket in the open floor. McClellan has to be accounted for as a shooter as well. She buried at least 2 wing triples in a game against Canton.
