There are a lot of very talented point guards in Michigan's junior class. And some of these players are still unsigned and would be great additions to college programs. That being said, we're going to give you 5 point guards from the junior class that coaches should watch as soon as possible.
Gabby Foster (PG, Mumford)
Foster is supremely underrated by most. She had a really good grassroots season, all while playing up and doing it against elite competition. Foster has solid handles and is smart with the ball. She can make tricky passes easy, even when in motion. Foster has the ability to shoot, and can really groove her jumper from behind the arc. She has a feel for the game that's tough, if even possible, to teach. A college coach will be getting a player that's for dedicated to being great.
Clara Groen (PG, Plymouth Christian)
Plymouth Christian has sort of a track record with talented guards. It looks like that will continue for a little while longer. Groen is the type of player that will hit all corners of a stat sheet. It's hard to find a weakness, as she has the ability to contribute in so many different ways. From shooting to chasing down rebounds, she's sure to keep them busy at the scorer's table. Again in Plymouth Christian fashion, Groen will be a great locker room addition at the next level as well.
Madleen Hussein (PG, Flat Rock)
I have a soft spot for catching games in Flat Rock. Maybe it's the race track, but it's probably just some really cool people down that way. Anyways, that's allowed me to track Hussein and her game. She's always been very talented, but there's been some great steps taken over the last 12 months. Hussein is confident in her handles and ability to hit small spaces with the pass. Her game has become much more dynamic with that confidence. Hussein will be a GREAT next level addition.
Melanie Kolnytis (PG, Midland Dow)
I saw Kolnytis years ago in her first high school scrimmage as a freshman. I've been high on her game ever since. She's has been, and still is, a very high IQ player. Kolnytis makes good passes on target and on time. And she can get buckets as well. Last night she dropped 22 while shooting 50% from the field in an instant classic type of game against Powers Catholic.
Paige Macavage (PG, Lutheran Northwest)
Macavage is a very talented lead guard. By true definition of the "lead guard" she can get the job done by both scoring and distributing. She can absolutely groove her jumper from behind the arc, but is also a true 3 level scorer that can create off the bounce and finish at the rim. The best part might be that Macavage has proven that she can do it in big game and in big moments. She could be a real steal as an addition at the next level.
