There is a ton of freshman basketball talent across the state of Michigan this season. And there are some players that can really fill it up with their jumpers. We're going to take a look at 5 of the elite freshman shooters in the state.
Delaney DeBoer (2028, G, Midland Dow)
DeBoer is going to frustrate defenses for years to come with her ability to shoot the ball. She's just makes her jumper incredibly hard to defend. DeBoer has one of the purest pull up jumpers in the freshman class and can bury a shot off the bounce at any time.
Adrianna Eklund (2028, G/F, Pewamo-Westphalia)
Eklund has a wonderfully well-rounded game, so we may not hear about her shooting all the time. That being said, I challenge you to find me many more efficient shooters. Eklund is a threat to score from anywhere on the floor which allows her shooting to put a ton of pressure on opposing defenses.
Ashlyn Lutz (2028, G, Milford)
Lutz is already a lights out shooter. She has the ability to create her own look as well as earn it through the flow of the offense. Lutz is a high IQ shooter that knows what a good look at the rim really is, which allows her to shoot at a high percentage.
Halle Powell (2028, G, Saline)
Powell has been an instant impact freshman for the Hornets. And she keeps getting better. In fact, Powell is coming off an impressive week of basketball. She's an aggressive and confident shooter. I think I'd be more likely to see someone eat popcorn out of a trash can than watch Powell miss a jumper.
Janielle Turner (2028, G, Utica Eisenhower)
Turner has had her shooting on display on the high school scene since TCA Fall Ball at The Compound. She's the type of shooter that can groove her jumper and get blazing hot with the shot. Turner is a game changing shooter.
