LBI's April Showers is a staple event on the grassroots scene here in Michigan. As always, the event will feature a ton of talent in all divisions. We're going to take a closer look at some of the talent to watch in the class of 2028 at April Showers.
Leanne Ajami (2028, F/C, HYPE Elite, Fordson)
Ajami is an intriguing talent that can be seen at the April Showers. She can be very productive in playing post defense and protecting the rim. Ajami does a nice job walling up and challenging offensive players at the rim. She has some very real upside with her post skills and it will be interesting to watch her compete this weekend.
Kendall Hough (2028, F, Macon 6 Basketball Academy 2028, Otsego)
Hough is a very intriguing prospect. She's incredibly active on the glass and actually rebounds bigger than her height. Hough reads and reacts well defensively. She's fast and effective with her help defense and is very solid sliding over and protecting the rim.
Ally Koenig (2028, G, Michigan Drive Premier 15u S40, Marshall)
Koenig should be a great watch this weekend. She's deliberate with the dribble and is at her best in attack mode. Koenig can get downhill with the ball and make plays. She's an energy player that will go every second that she's on the floor.
Rylee Miller (2028, G/F, TC Elite 2028, South Lyon)
Miller is proving to be a player to keep an eye on. She has a very adaptable game that allows her to fit and excel in a variety of styles. Miller can get at the rim and be a scoring option off the wing. She's a terrific defender that can guard basically anywhere on the floor.
Londyn Newton (2028, G, Michigan Storm 2028, Heritage)
Newton is a must see lead guard at the April Showers! She's probably one of the quickest guards in the state, both with and without the ball. Newton can change direction on a dime and wrong foot her defender. Speaking of defense, Newton is an underrated defender. She can pressure the ball as well as jump passing lanes.
