There have been some recent football recruiting developments in the state of Michigan involving some high quality players and prospects. Let's look at some recent recruiting news from the state at various levels, classes and positions.
Jahi Wood (2024, RB / Nickel / Ath, Waverly High School, Michigan)
Wood recently committed to Northern Michigan University. The elusive athlete gained chunk yards for Waverly, averaging over 7 yards per carry. Wood can start and stop smoothly and picks up speed quickly, making it very difficult to wrap him up and tackle him cleanly. Defensively, he reads the ball and can get downhill creating havoc.
Jamar Hill (2024, DT / G, Whitehall High School, Michigan)
Hill has committed to Concordia University - Ann Arbor. He's a powerful defensive tackle that has good balance and can use his upper body to shred off blockers. Hill is incredibly disruptive in the middle and can seemingly break down run plays between the tackles. has the ability to chase down the ball and make plays laterally as well.
Braylen Naves (2025, WR, Davison High School, Michigan)
Naves recently received an offer from Eastern Michigan University. He's a big play receiver that averaged 22.1 yards per catch. Naves has next level size and strength and can line up both outside and as a slot receiver. He's a threat on both the outer thirds and over the middle. His size, strength and versatility are very intriguing and exciting for his potential as a prospect.
Justice Dungey (2024, OT / DT / DE, Waverly High School, Michigan)
Dungey has committed to Saginaw Valley State University. On the offensive side of the ball, he's a very physical blocker. Dungey engages with the defender quickly and maintains contact as long as needed. He doesn't just make contact, but also drives his legs and buries the defender. Defensively, I really like the way Dungey holds the outside and dominates his lanes.
