Sadie Dykstra is a terrific all around athlete. She's proven that she can be elite in multiple sports. While she has shown that she's a next level basketball talent, Dykstra did just the same this spring in track and field. She attends Yale High School where she is an elite student as well. There should be a lot of coaches entering Yale, Michigan into their GPS over the next few years. When you see how dominant she's been this season, keep in mind that Dykstra IS JUST A FRESHMAN!
Dykstra took the Blue Water Area Conference by storm this spring. At the BWAC League Meet, Dykstra dominated the competition. She finished in first place in the long jump, 100 meter hurdles, the 300 meter hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay. Her 18'1" long jump was a BWAC meet record.
Dykstra continued her dominance at regionals. She again finished first in the 100 meter hurdles, the 300 meter hurdles and the long jump. It didn't end at regionals though. Dykstra showed at the state finals that she should be considered one of the best track athletes in Michigan. She finished 4th in the long hump, 5th in the 100 meter hurdles and 6th in the 300 meter hurdles.
Dykstra should be getting a lot of looks to continue her track career at the next level. She's much more than just a top notch athlete though. Dykstra is a terrific student as well, making her very recruitable by any school at any level. She also has that personality that teammates seem to love and admire. Dykstra is able to draw everyone together and keep teams positive and supportive. It will fun and interesting to watch her athletic career develop.
